Scripture Reference: A wise man is strong, A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increases strength. Proverbs 24:5
Strength is a vital component of victory. Sustained strength is a prerequisite to continuous victory. This strength isn’t physical strength but intellectual strength and our text make it clear that true strength in this regard comes from knowledge.
This implies that the more I know, the stronger I become in the area of concern and the more I’d be better equipped for victory. We are all limited by whatever we know. The wiser we are, the better we live. Therefore, in order to scale new heights and obtain victories at our current levels, we must commit to knowing more.
In Hoses 4:6, God Himself states that lack of knowledge is a recipe for destruction. So if we will live a destruction-free life, then we must love knowledge. In the same manner, we budget for other areas of our lives, our mental development should also be budgeted for. We will be surprised that many things we think are attacks from the devil are actually “attacks” funded by our ignorance.
There are many areas of our lives where things might seem mysterious and it may look like we are defeated. But we can appropriate victory in those areas by learning the principles that make them work. In Daniel 9:2, Daniel said “he understood by books” which implies that if we would increase in understanding, we must increase in relevant knowledge and if Daniel could, then we can and we must.
It’s a great season but it takes understanding to maximize it fully. Let’s go for understanding.
