ACHIEVE GREATNESS WITH YEMI AND BIMBO DAVIDS –
DAY 6 NOVEMBER 2019
The Reality of God’s Overflow – The Miracle of Multiplications
Scriptural Reference: “Then Jesus lifted up His eyes and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where we shall buy bread, that these may eat?” – John 6: 5.
A great multitude came to Jesus and after a few days, He saw the need to feed them. The disciples marvelled, knowing they would need a heavy supply of bread to feed the number of people that came for the meeting. Though this appeared to be an enormous task and a near impossibility. But to experience Gods best, we need the possibility mindset.
What you don’t believe, you can’t experience. They got a lad with 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish. Andrew, one of the disciples, said “…but what are they among so many” John 6:9b. Logically, what are 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish among so many? When you reach the end of your rope, God is there to take over. But you must believe in His capacity to do more than enough.
Jesus took the 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish, gave thanks, and a miracle of multiplication was birthed. If every one of the 5000 men had just enough to eat, that would be a miracle, but God is not just enough, He is more than enough. I basked in the reality of verses 12-14, looking practically at the reality of the overflow. After they were filled, Jesus asked the disciples to gather the remaining fragments and they were able to fill 12 baskets! 12 whole baskets!
That is the overflow; that is God at work!
Daily digest: Read John 6:1-14
Prayer: Dear Lord, You Who turns what we see as little into what Heaven sees as much, help me to see the value of the little things I can do to serve and love as You taught us to do. You Who Measures not as we measure, and thus can multiply beyond our estimations, transcend my small efforts into large impacts, guide me to see and appreciate Your many blessings even as I seek to be Your tool for helping others. This I ask to serve Your Greater Glory, while I seek to always be Your tool in serving and loving others, Amen.
