Scripture reference: “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you” – Proverbs 23:7
No one can rise above the level of his/her mind. A wise man once said if I cannot change the state of your mind, I cannot change the state of your life. Whatever is too big for our minds to capture might be too big for our hands to handle. It, therefore, becomes vital to give all it takes to develop the capacity of our minds.
We live in a generation today that is overly focused on the state of the body as it relates to fashion, gadgets, makeup, jewelry and the likes. However, these things are only temporary and do not really have a lasting impact on the quality of lives we lead. We need to make a conscious effort to develop our mind-capacity because if we desire any change on the outside, we must first become it within our minds before we become it on the outside; first within, then without.
In Genesis 13:13-15, God made a promise to Abraham but it was tied to Abraham’s ability to SEE the reality first in his mind. Just like Abraham, there are awesome promises God has in store for us this year, however, the delivery of the promises are tied to our ability to SEE the possibility first in our minds before we can handle them with our hands.
It is time to upgrade what we see within, as Paul admonished in Ephesians 4:23 that we are “Renewed in the spirit of our minds”.
