Scripture Reference: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26
The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is God’s spirit or the “teaching arm of God”. Jesus calls him our friend because it he sticks close to us like a friend, speaks to us daily, tells us what is on God’s mind and basically does what God wants him to do. The presence of the Holy Spirit is what gives us the power that confirms us as sons of God and the boldness to be witnesses of the gospel of Jesus.
A friend is that one person that knows exactly what to say when we seemingly are in the worst of moods or when we are having a bad day. The Holy Spirit is all that and more. He is the expression of God that we have in our day to day lives.
Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is to the extent we want it. He is the embodiment of peace and will not force His way into our lives in whatever form or fashion. He is available to make our Christian faith, love and walk much more interesting, real and better. He is the voice of God in our hearts, the soft nudge in our minds and the friend that Jesus promised us.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, I invite you into my heart to have the right of way in life. I believe that you have my best interest at heart and that you are the missing link to a perfect relationship with God and I recognize your importance. I am sorry if, in any way, I have undermined your authority. Please take control and do what only you can do, not only today but always. Amen.
