ACHIEVE GREATNESS WITH YEMI AND BIMBO DAVIDS
Day 30 October 2019
Sow the seed of favour
Scriptural Reference: “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal shall be measured to you again” Luke 6: 38
We are blessed to be a blessing. The degree to which we are prepared to be a blessing is the degree to which God’s blessing will be released in our direction. Being a blessing to others is the law of the seed. We are not going to be blessed to remain a consumer or to walk in pride, rather we are blessed to be a blessing. To multiply favour, we must sow seeds of favour. God takes our seeds of favour towards others, and blesses them and multiplies it back to us. If you sow favour, you will reap favour.
Jesus said, ‘shall men give into your bosom’. That is favour on your job, favour at home, favour everywhere. You don’t have to beg or manipulate man to do it. When you sow seeds of favour, it causes God to put things in the heart of man, compelling them to bless you by doing things for you as a form of harvest. So my seed, sown willingly, joyfully and expectantly, moves the heart and hand of God, and the hand of God in turn moves the heart and hand of man in my direction.
Another part we need to take note of in the scripture above is the second part of the verse which says, ‘for with the same measure that ye mete withal, it shall be measured back to you’. If you sow rags, you will reap rags. If you sow sparingly, we will reap sparingly, and if you sow bountifully, you will reap bountifully. There are measures of God, and if we want to grow in God’s favour, then we must be determined to grow in the school of giving.
Daily digest: Sometimes when we start trusting God for a higher level of favour, He will demand a higher order of seed.
Prayer: Lord bless me so that I can bless my environment in the name of Jesus
