ACHIEVE GREATNESS WITH YEMI AND BIMBO DAVIDS – 14 November 2019
Day 14 November 2019
Overflow seed creates overflow harvest – Part 1
Scriptural Reference: “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6 – 7
Looking closely at the net-breaking and boat-sinking blessing that Peter enjoyed in Luke 5: 1-9, we discover that Peters breakthrough came as a result of a seed he sowed into the gospel. Jesus requested for Simon’s boat to be used for His ministration that day, and if you look deeply, it was after he had done speaking or using the boat that the power was released for Peter’s blessing of overflow. Jesus didn’t talk to all the fishermen there; it was Peter he spoke to. For whatsoever a man sows that shall (a man) also reap. It was Peter that gave his boat and he was the one that got the harvest.
We must be smart in covenant matters. Seeds to advance the kingdom of God, in the form of cash, kind or otherwise, are points of contact for the overflow. If Peter was to look at the losses and frustration of the previous night, he perhaps would have been selfish and would have missed the blessing.
I think it is in time of need that we should be eager to sow seeds in God’s kingdom. And beyond the seed, it becomes a kind of sacrifice and with it comes uncommon harvest.
God does not use people, He raises people. Whenever there is a kingdom need around us which may be announced in our local churches or may come to our notice through any means, we must be eager to be a part of it regardless of our own situation.
We will undoubtedly not regret it. We should follow them who through faith and patience inherit the blessing. Peter got it, and we are wise if we follow after his example.
Daily digest: “The Lord will open to you His good treasure….” – Deuteronomy 28:12 (NKJV)
Prayer: As I sow my seed of faith today, I believe it will be given back to me. It will pour out a surpassing overflow of harvest. It will be exceedingly, abundantly beyond measure. Amen
