ACHIEVE GREATNESS WITH YEMI AND BIMBO DAVIDS – 16 February 2020
Day 16
Hospitality Matters
Scripture reference
“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” – Proverbs 22:1 NIV
“See the light in others and treat them as if that is all you see ” – Dr Wayne Dyer
Showing hospitality and kindness becomes strained and difficult when all we see in others are their weaknesses and flaws.
This is the reason why some treat certain people well and then turn around to treat some others with disdain.
Treating people kindly requires that we don’t overestimate ourselves. We are all flawed and have made mistakes. When you are conscious of that fact, you’ll always count it a privilege to be in the position that you’re in currently.
Hospitality means showing kindness and consideration to people.
Abraham gives a good example of what it means to be hospitable. In Genesis 18:1-9, he saw three men on a mission, but he compelled them to come into his house and entertained them. He practically forced them in, without realizing they were angels; carriers of blessings and they actually had a blessing for Abraham.
Can you imagine if Abraham had ignored their presence or treated them badly? The answers he had desired for many years would have been delayed further.
Also, in Genesis 24, we see how Rebekah treated Abraham’s servant honourably and served her way into greatness.
Don’t look out for what you’ll get in return before you treat someone kindly.
Make up your mind today that no matter the circumstance you find yourself, in season and out of season best omega replica, you’ll show hospitality.
“Greet the stranger as if you’re greeting God”
