ACHIEVE GREATNESS WITH YEMI AND BIMBO DAVIDS
Day 26 JANUARY 2020
Noise Kills Genius
Scripture Reading: “And Isaac went out to meditate in the field toward evening; and he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, camels were coming ….” Gen 24:63
Solomon declared, “Seest thou a man diligent and skilful in his business, he shall stand before kings and not mean men”. Skill is required for greatness, and wisdom is the mother of skill. Joseph possessed unusual wit. Pharaoh said, “There is no man as wise and discreet as thou art…” the rest is history. One major secret of success is the ability to put knowledge to work accurately. This is a simple definition of wisdom. The works of your hand reflect your wisdom or folly, for wisdom is justified her children. Mary Kay Ash made a profound statement: “In a career, you either go forward or backwards, you don’t standstill. Every manager must continually improve his or her skills through self-development that spans a lifetime”
Silence, stillness, and solitude are the tools the Holy Spirit use to birth wisdom. Thinking is living. Learn to lead a quiet life. Remember, noise kills genius. Any time I am alone, I have peace; I receive instructions. Most of the instructions I have received from God came when I was in the gents, alone. God values quietness. Adam spent time with God in the cool of the day. I cannot overemphasize this point. Even this book you are reading is a product of stillness. “… in quietness and confidence shall be your strength…” says Isaiah 30:15. The supernatural flight is guaranteed in your ministry, career and business when ideas or strategies flow from the throne of God. Wisdom is the mother of wealth but noise kills genius. Thomas Edison said, “When you are silent, it just dawns on you”. What dawns on you? The next step to take; where to go; what not to do. Learn to be quiet and do your business. Mike Murdock said, “Every job is the self-portrait of the doer of it”. When I see your job, I can tell if you make too much noise. Noise kills genius. So silence is the nurse of wisdom. At various times in the bible, we see Jesus separate Himself to a hill or mountain to pray. Separation is the gateway to solitude. Solitude is the nurse of wisdom. Start today!
Daily digest: “Solitude is the nurse of wisdom”, says Ron Holland and noise kills genius
Prayer: Lord, I receive grace to live a quiet life. I choose to be skilful with my assignment on earth. Help Lord that I may become a productive thinker in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
Thank you, Lord.
