Topic: Love like Jesus
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” – John 3:16 NKJV
Love is a decisive and intentional act. It leaves the spheres of emotional rush and euphoria into a deliberate decision to GIVE. Give time, money, energy, mercy, forgiveness, compassion and much more without expecting anything in return. The apostle Paul puts it that LOVE bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things
You see, Jesus showed the greatest act of love when there was no likelihood of us reciprocating it. He knew that we were most likely going to shove it in his face; but guess what; He did it still.
He died for us.
We need to understand that it isn’t love until it is given away without hopes of getting it back. It is not love until we decide to forgive before knowing what the offense is, let alone receiving an apology.
Let’s make a decision today to love like Jesus did. It’s easier when we acknowledge that we enjoy eternal life today, all because “God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son”.
