Scripture Reference: These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except for their own spirit within them? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. -1 CORINTHIANS 2: 10-13
We all need assurances at one point or the other in our lives especially when we take decisions. For instance, we usually have that nudge to make sure we just took the right decision on an issue, in a situation, with our finances. This nudge is felt more when we just take a decision in a new situation, one that we have not been in before. Such was the case when most we all gave our lives to Christ. It did not make logical sense but we believed with our hearts that Jesus was born of a virgin and died for us.
We could not have believed the story of Jesus with our heads because it does not make natural sense so we believed in our hearts. We were convinced that the story we read or hear(d) is true because the Holy Spirit helped us believe. Scriptures say that no one can say that Jesus Christ is Lord except by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, the Holy Spirit is an integral part of the Christian faith. He does the work behind the scenes, the seemingly “little works” that make Christianity sweeter than if we had to work it out ourselves.
The Holy Spirit also unravels the mystery that may surround Christianity in our hearts. Since he is the spirit of God, he knows what is on the mind of God. This is why we must not undermine the importance of the Holy Spirit. He truly is a friend because he daily makes life easier for us as Christians and more than a friend in that he helps us to know the truth. Do you know?

Prayer: Thank you God for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank you because he helps me to know that I am your child. I receive that knowledge as the truth of how you see me, your son/daughter and I thank you for it.
