“For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, this man began to build and was not able to finish.” – Luke 14:28-30
A finance guru once said, “Pretend a minute that you started a company called YOU Ltd, and it was your job to manage every cent that passes through the company. If you managed money for YOU Ltd, the same way you managed your funds now, would you fire you?
If everyone was asked about their financial desires, most people would probably spell out big dreams and great wishes about where they would love to be financial. However, we understand from Lk 14:28-30 that for our dreams, desires, and goals to be fulfilled we must learn to count the cost. Money is fluid and active. Always moving from one source to another, that’s why its popularly called currency, from the word current, which means ‘flowing’. Counting the cost simply means, being aware and in control of the flow. Knowing and managing the money God has entrusted us with is our responsibility.
Money always flows away from those who don’t manage it and towards those who do. A wise man once said, “You don’t grow big first to then manage well, you manage well before you can grow big”. Many are waiting to start earning millions before they start handling and managing their resources well, that’s the wrong order. Get your finances in order today and watch how the currency will begin to flow towards you.
PRAYER
My Lord and God, I receive wisdom to manage effectively the resources you have entrusted me with. Poverty and lack are far from me and my household in Jesus name.
