“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.” – Galatians 5:6
Faith is a powerful force, a tremendous tool given to the Christian to walk and to work with God, but without Love, faith won’t work. First Corinthians 13 goes on to tell us the numerous other things that won’t work without love, some of which include, our giving, speaking in tongues, and so on. Faith is important but love is absolutely crucial, even 1 Cor 13:13 says Love is the greatest of Faith, Love and Hope.
1 Cor 13:4-8, outlines how love behaves; its patient, kind, not jealous, not arrogant, isn’t rude, does not insist on its own right, love isn’t selfish, among others. People sometimes think walking in love, the God kind of love is very difficult or even nearly impossible as some would like to think, but that isn’t so.
Love comes naturally to us, Christians. Firstly, we are all creatures of love, created in the image of our father, who is love himself (1 John 4:7). Secondly, according to Romans 5:5, the love of God is spread in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. So, whenever we feel like we are running low on love, we can ask the Holy Spirit to do some spreading and then we go ahead and act natural!
Sweet Holy Spirit, let my heart, life & faith exude the love of God. Cause me to walk in love as I declare and decree that I am a love being in Jesus name.
